Paul Peterson works out of the HGR offices in Midland and Orillia with a focus on municipal planning, land development and environmental issues. He joined HGR Lawyers in 2008 after seventeen years of practice in Toronto, including ten years in the municipal and environmental practice group of a large national law firm.
Before becoming a lawyer Paul worked as a land use planner in British Columbia where he was responsible for the development of waterfront projects and mountain ski resorts.
He has extensive legal experience representing private owners, municipalities and developers on a broad range of land use planning and environmental issues. He has provided advice on the successful completion of development projects including commercial retail centers, resort communities, office buildings and residential condominium developments.
In the past Paul has provided legal services to all levels of government. Currently his government work is focused on service to municipal governments in Simcoe County, Muskoka and central Ontario.
Throughout his legal career Paul has also been able to pursue a personal interest in land conservation and has worked on the successful completion of many large and complex land conservation projects. He is recognized across Canada for his work in this area and has been able to assist property owners, donors, land conservation charities and governments to achieve their land conservation objectives.
