Richard was born in Timmins Ontario and lived there with his family until they moved to Barrie in 1989. It was in Barrie that he attended school prior to moving on to University in Guelph in 2002. In 2006, Richard received his Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Sociology. After completing his undergraduate degree, Richard then moved to Europe to work and play hockey.

After spending some time in Europe, Richard decided he wanted to attend law school and chose to do so in Australia. From 2008-2010, Richard attended Bond University on Australia’s Gold Coast where he obtained a Juris Doctor as well as a Legal Skills Diploma and a specialization designation in Corporate & Commercial Law. While at school overseas, Richard was exposed to a variety of different cultural experiences as well as having the privilege of participating in a specialized course on mediation in the international marketplace which took place in Lyons France.

Since graduating and returning home from Australia, Richard worked as a summer student in Barrie where he gained a wealth of experience and knowledge in many different facets of law.

After successfully completing his equivalency and licencing exams, Richard accepted an articling position with Weaver Simmons LLP where he developed a strong interest and passion for Real Estate Law.

Richard was called to the Bar in January, 2014 and is thrilled to have an opportunity to join the HGR Graham Partners family.

Additionally, Richard is an avid hockey player in the winter and golfer in the summer. He is also currently a member of the Simcoe County Young Professionals Association as well as the Simcoe County Lawyers Association.

“I would refer another individual to Richard as his work was stellar”

Richard was very professional in our dealings and took the time to help us understand the transaction. He was prompt, took initiative where it was beneficial, and made us feel at ease. Richard, in concert with the HGRGP team, provided a very high level of service.
