Joshua’s practice is focused primarily on municipal law as well as wills and estates law. Though he is based primarily in our Barrie office, Joshua is happy to meet clients at any of our offices throughout Simcoe County, including his hometown, Orillia.

Joshua completed his J.D. from Queen’s University in June 2023 and returned to HGR Graham Partners to complete his articles, having summered here the year before.

Before attending law school, Joshua served in the Office of the Prime Minister of Canada, as Senior Writer – a position he held until starting law school. Joshua also worked as a research assistant at Lakehead University in Orillia, working with Dr. Natalya Timoshkina on significant projects related to human trafficking in the Simcoe-Muskoka Region. Among others, these projects included “Labour Trafficking”, “Trafficking of the Elderly”, and “Examining Social Enterprise as a Potential Model for Labour Market (Re)integration of Human Trafficking Survivors”.

In addition to his J.D., Joshua holds a master’s degree in comparative politics, a B.A. (honours) in political science, and a diploma in General Arts and Sciences. Throughout his education, Joshua played varsity basketball, worked as a teaching assistant, and served as a team executive for his National Model United Nations team. In the Summers, Joshua would return home to Orillia to serve at his parents’ restaurant and to stay engaged in the community, helping to organize and run charity breakfasts and various fundraisers.

While his educational and professional experiences have taken him to Ottawa, Niagara, and Kingston, he has always called Orillia home. Now back in Orillia, he’s eager to leverage his multifaceted experience and education to meet the varied needs of clients in the communities he holds dear.
